MONS. DE GALARRETA Y LA CAJA DE PANDORA

BISHOP DE GALARRETA

AND PANDORA’S BOX

Pandora opened a box containing all the evils,

releasing all the human misery

On the Internet it is circulating a work signed by Bishop Alfonso de Galarreta entitled Reflections on the Roman Proposition.

There is no indication when, or where or to whom it was presented.

Judging by those who use (and abuse) of it, one should have to think that this work is strongly opposed to the claims of Bishop Fellay in order to obtain a canonical status for the SSPX without the Roman Antichrist abjuring the council errors.

Before going into deeper considerations, now I point out a surprising phrase, which catches my attention in this twelve-page writing:

«For the good of the fraternity and tradition, must be closed as quickly as possible «Pandora’s box.»»

I will discuss this point below. For now, let’s take it as a warning…

***

The entire document is an argument against the practical agreement of Bishop Fellay.

On reaching conclusions, Bishop de Galarreta strikes blows with expressions like the following:

«To move towards a practical agreement would be to deny our word and our commitments to our priests, our faithful, and Rome in front of everyone.»

«Such an approach would show a serious diplomatic weakness on the part of the fraternity, and indeed, more than diplomatic. It would be a lack of consistency, honesty and firmness, which would have effects like loss of the credibility and the moral authority we enjoy.»

The least you could say is that Bishop de Galarreta is a man who takes care of his renown…

***

However, the following conclusion puts this in doubt, as it shows off diplomatic firmness:

«Accordingly, it is not the moment to change the decision of the Chapter of 2006 (no practical agreement without resolving the doctrinal issue) and it is not right nor prudent to undertake on the preparation of the spirits in an opposite direction, before there is among us the conviction, consensus and the decision to change. The opposite only causes division and, by reaction, a war, the anarchy.»

Then, if we understand properly, to the bishop what is right and prudent is to obtain among them the conviction, the consensus and the decision to change accordingly to the practical agreement and then to prepare the spirits to accept it.

This is exactly the same maneuver they did with the Motu proprio that relegated Catholic Mass to an extraordinary rite, comparing it with the bastard montinian mass…

This is exactly the same procedure that they implemented when asking the withdrawal of the decree of excommunications, knowing they were going to obtain the lifting of them…

Everything suggests that the SSPX authorities lean towards a consensus among acuerdistas (those in favor of an agreement) and antiacuerdistas (those against an agreement): agreement with Rome, yes; but not a deal purely practical, but a doctrinal one that Rome and the SSPX can accept

And this requires the preparation of spirits… let us get some time.

If this gets concreted, those that currently (late and meaningless) argue against the practical agreement, once the time had come, will have done much more damage than the current acuerdistas…

Indeed, the counciliar revolution (and the world anti-Christian one) will have taken a step back, to take three or four forward…

***

And then comes the sentence given at the beginning, and now we understand its meaning:

«For the good of the fraternity and tradition, must be closed as quickly as possible «Pandora’s box.» to avoid the stigma and the demolition of the authority, disputes, dissensions and divisions, perhaps without return.»

We know some of the secret evil contained in the famous box:

* In the case of a personal prelature, the office of Superior General could fall upon a «Roman»…

* The General Council to assist the Superior General would consist of six members…

* These six members could be appointed by Rome…

* In this case there would be no more Chapter of the SSPX…

* It would be expected that the financial accounts of the Personal Prelature be under the control of local bishops…

***

And so we come to a point raised by Bishop de Galarreta:

«In this sense, the real question to be answered is: what are the other conditions required, ad intra and ad extra, in the hypothetical case of a «good» proposal, totally acceptable in itself, to try to make a deal?»

And the bishop answers:

«The quoted texts of Archbishop Lefebvre enable us to respond with clarity and firmness.»

However, these texts have been available for thirty and forty years, and in the last twelve, particularly in the last three, they have been completely ignored, distorted and even used in the opposite direction intended by the author, that is, oriented towards a practical agreement…

What will provide the reopening of Pandora’s box, if it has ever been indeed closed?
